Description
Baritone and Euphonium play the same part and require the same skills however are different sizes. They play the same part as the trombone but use valves instead of a slide to change notes.
Things to consider
- Both require good aural skills and suit students who are good singers or have been in choir
- Baritone would suit slightly smaller students and sounds like the trombone
- Euphonium has a deeper sound and is greatly valued for the ‘warm’ sound it adds to a band
- Both can be played easily by most primary-aged students but it is a good idea to consider transport – a luggage trolley may be helpful
