Euphonium & Baritone Horn

Description

Baritone and Euphonium play the same part and require the same skills however are different sizes. They play the same part as the trombone but use valves instead of a slide to change notes.

Things to consider

  • Both require good aural skills and suit students who are good singers or have been in choir
  • Baritone would suit slightly smaller students and sounds like the trombone
  • Euphonium has a deeper sound and is greatly valued for the ‘warm’ sound it adds to a band
  • Both can be played easily by most primary-aged students but it is a good idea to consider transport  – a luggage trolley may be helpful
